1.How many kids do you have and what are their ages?
I have 3 kids- Darren (16), Harrison (14), & Ella (11)
- How long have you lived in Short Hills/Millburn/Livingston and what made you decide to live here?
I have lived in Livingston for almost 18 years. I choose Livingston to call home for the amazing school system, the access to both NYC and the beach. I immediately felt at home here and have been incredibly happy.
3.Tell us about your business and what other local things you are involved in! And how did you get started?
I am a Certified Transformational Life Coach. I have my own coaching business, Amy Morgan Wellness (www.amymorganwellness.com) . I help busy mom’s transform their lives through a process of self discovery to find their purpose and reclaim their life! I lead my clients through a process that teaches them their power lies within, shows you how to connect with yourself and breaks patterns that keep them stuck. I work with my clients in both one on one private coaching as well as in group settings. Through my program moms will learn how to work through limited beliefs, learn how to connect with themselves on an entirely new level, have a greater self acceptance and lots of self love. My clients gain clarity on what they really want, who they authentically are and how to live a more empowered life. 4.Favorite thing to do when you need “me time”?
My favorite things to do when I need “me time” is to put my Airpods in and go for a long walk and get lost in my own thoughts. I also love a great relaxing bath.
5.Favorite place for dinner with kids?
We have so many great choices but you will often find us at Thirsty Turtle.
6.Most enjoyable place to hang out?
I have an amazing group of friends so anywhere I can relax and laugh! Laughter is important!
7.How do you balance your career and being a mom?
Like every mom this year has been extremely challenging with home school. I try to schedule my work time while they are in school and my afternoons and evenings are all about them. When I do have to work at night with clients my priority is always my family so I make sure they have a home cooked meal and I make sure they know I am working. My kids and I have great communication so if they know I am busy they are happy to let me do my thing. We have family dinners just about every night so that is always my favorite time of the day to connect with them.
8.Proudest mommy moment(s)?
My proudest moments are when I can step back and watch the magic of normalcy unfold. I love to cook and dinner is always our time when they are all talking, laughing & even fighting makes me the happiest. With 3 teenagers the chaos of constantly all being busy, to me is absolute perfection.
9.Can’t believe that happened mommy moment!
Wow, so many! To me it’s all the simple moments. Every night when I say goodnight to each of them and tell them I love them & they all say it back. Its all so genuine and pure
10.Best advice you have gotten from a mom?
You don’t have to control everything. Kids will be kids and they follow by example. Show them who you are, show them they are valued and they will be amazing!
11.Best piece of advice you can give other moms!
You are enough! Do your best every day, lead with love & let the rest just happen! Be kind and gentle to yourself when everything doesn’t go exactly as planned, it’s really okay.
12.One thing people would be surprised to know about you…
I am very spiritual. I truly believe that everything happens for a reason in life & if you miss the lesson the first time it will keep appearing until it’s resolved. I have learned to let go & trust the universe to do its job. I have a very positive attitude that life happens for you and not to you!
