Where are you from originally and how long have you lived in Essex County? Kids? How many? Ages?
I was born and raised in West Orange and have spent most of my adult life in Livingston. I’m a Jersey girl! I married a widower with two children who are now adults and we have one daughter together who is coming up on 24 years old! Can’t believe how time flies! We have two beautiful granddaughters who live in Hoboken. One is a brainiac and the other is a superstar athlete!

Favorite things to do in town/Essex County?
We enjoy going to local museums and spending time at the Jersey shore. We had an apartment in Pier Village, Long Branch, for many years. It was a great escape year-round!
What is your favorite restaurant town/in Essex County?
Since the pandemic, we haven’t been eating out as much as we did formerly, but we still do plenty of curbside. Love Saigon Cafe, Zeugma, Xunta, Sushi Hana for international, and so many great Italian restaurants like Coco Bella, Primavera, Bucco’s just to name a few.
Best advice you have gotten?
Perseverance keeps me going. One of my favorite inspirational quotes is “She believed she could. So she did!” I didn’t consult the experts when I launched my business because I felt they would discourage me. But here I am helping women every day. It gives me purpose and brings me joy.
What Song Puts You in a Good Mood?
As to songs, again, where to begin? Whenever I hear the commercial on TV for insurance with “Grazing in the Grass” playing in the background, it just lifts my spirits! I love that oldie but goodie!
Best Show/Series You Are Currently Watching, Just Watched or Have Watched?
One of my favortite Netflix shows is Queer Eye. I can never get enough of the Fab 5! It’s so uplifting!

Handcrafters is a favorite local business. I’ve been getting wonderful personalized gifts from Helaine for so many years. They’re always a big hit.
What Are Your Parenting Goals?
My parenting goals are to raise compassionate and principled children who support each other and care about world events. Now more than ever we need to all do our part to help the less fortunate, open our hearts and our minds to the suffering of others.
