As we head towards Winter (how?!) it just feels right to be starting a new show. Whether it’s with your spouse as a way to bond or post-bedtime me-time with a cup of tea or glass of wine, we’re sharing a shortlist of picks. This unscientific collection of five is what our Moms (and their friends) are recommending, and from dramas to reality TV, there’s a choice everyone will love.

The Watcher
How to watch: Stream on Netflix
Why to watch: Halloween may be over, but if you’re like me and aren’t quite ready to give up spooky season, The Watcher is the perfect creepy miniseries for you. Based on a true story, the series follows the chic Brannock family as they move to the suburbs, but quickly realize that their dream house may actually be from their nightmares.

Perfect for a couple that generally can’t agree on what to watch! Binge seasons 1-4 to catch up before the highly anticipated Season 5 premieres in November.
Staring: Kevin Costner, Kelly Reilly, Gil Birmingham
Lord of the Rings: Rings of Power
How to watch: Stream on Amazon Prime
Why to watch: If you’re a fantasy fan, or just love a big budget production, Rings of Power is for you. This prequel to “The Hobbit” and “The Lord of the Rings” Trilogy will have you on the edge of your seat with a compelling and suspenseful plot and incredible special effects.

Bad Sisters
How to watch: Stream on Apple TV
Why to watch: This dark comedy follows the close-knit Garvey sisters as they navigate the premature death of their brother in law, “the prick.” Developed by Sharon Hogan, the brilliant creator of “Catastrophe,” Bad Sisters is simultaneously suspenseful, hilarious, and heart-wrenching all at the same time.
Starring: Sharon Hogan, Brian Gleeson, Anne-Marie Duff
The Real Housewives of Potomac
How to watch: Stream old episodes on Peacock, watch new episodes on Bravo Sundays at 9pm EST
Why to watch: As a die hard Bravo fan, The Real Housewives of Potomac is peak reality TV. It has everything you want from a Housewives franchise: genuine friendships, frenemies, full on feuds, contentious divorces, delusions of grandeur – all from 7 hilariously shady women. The Real Housewives of Potomac is one of my favorite ways to unwind.
Starring: Karen Huger, Gizelle Bryant, Candiace Dillard-Bassett
