Meet-a-Doc: Meet Dr. Meghan Horn!
Hackensack Meridian K. Hovnanian Children’s Hospital is proud to introduce Meghan Horn, M.D. a board certified pediatric gastroenterologist as the newest edition to the pediatric GI team. Dr. Horn is a specialized expert in complex gastrointestinal issues and restoring children’s gut health, and ultimately their quality of life. While Dr. Horn cares for a variety of patients with various gastrointestinal disorders, her clinical expertise focuses on eosinophilic gastrointestinal disorders.
Some of the most common conditions Dr. Horn treats:
- Abdominal pain
- Constipation
- Gastroesophageal reflux disease
- Inflammatory Bowel Disease (IBD) – Crohn’s disease and Ulcerative Colitis
- Celiac Disease

What sparked your interest in a medical career?
From a young age, I loved caring for children and knew that I wanted to be a doctor for kids. There is nothing more fulfilling to me than restoring the smile on a child’s face. I grew up in the area, and volunteered at K. Hovnanian Children’s Hospital in high school. It was so rewarding to work with kids. I learned to identify stressors that could affect the health and happiness of children and adolescents and did my best to help fix them.
What is the #1 gut tip you always share with patient families?
For both children and adults, it’s important to regularly eat meals that have fiber included, like raspberries, pears, peas and whole grains, and be sure to drink lots of water throughout each day.
What is unique about your philosophy of care?
I have always understood that it takes a holistic approach to care, which involves an understanding of physical, mental, and social needs, so that I can provide the best care for my patients. I strive to create a warm and supportive environment for my patients and families with the ultimate goal of restoring health and happiness.
What do you love most about New Jersey?
The beach!
